Google Chrome dark mood in any android device (no root).
Are you excited to know how to activate the dark mood in google chrome application which runs on your Android devices?
You can follow the below steps to activate dark mood in your google chrome application. I have tested these steps on one plus 6t and here some of the device and software related details.
Device → One Plus 6t (8GB Ram)
Android version → 9
Android security patch level → March 1, 2019
Google Chrome app version → 74.0.3729.112
Here we go…
- Open the Chrome browser application on your android device and type following address/URL in the address bar and press return key on your Android keypad.
2. Once you typed that URL and pressed the return key you will get the following screen.
3. In the above screen search for Android web using the search bar and click on the Android web content dark mood from the filtered results.
4. Change the android web content dark mood status from default to enabled.5. Now search for Android Chrome. Then select Android Chrome UI dark mood from the search results and change its default state to enabled.
6. Now press on the Relaunch Now button.
7. Close the chrome application and open chrome app info from the settings page or hard pressing on the chrome app icon.
8. From Chrome app info page press on the Force Stop button.
9. Reopen the chrome application and navigate to chrome settings by taping on the three-dot icon in the top right corner (from there press on the settings).
10. Select dark menu option and enable it.
11. Then close the application and reopen chrome now you can see dark mood enabled chrome application. So, browse to your favorite website and check how dark mood works there.
Even though pages/screens like settings and google chrome landing page with cards looks good with dark mood when it comes to pages like google chrome search results and few other pages with some content look bit of color washed or similar to high contrast moods.
So if you want to reset your Chrome application to the default mood you just have to follow the above steps vice versa. That will give you the older/default/light mood google chrome.
